teaching////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
I have taught music for many years now. During this time, I have accumulated a wealth of experience, which benefits my students. Making music and teaching music, or being a musician and a teacher, belongs together for me. These two sides of music feed off each other.
Over the years, the repertoire of instruments, as well as the forms of teaching, have increased. This was a natural process, which is still ongoing. My basic idea is to always spark the joy of playing music while teaching theoretical and technical aspects. The one-to-one lessons match up with the individual strengths, weaknesses and the special interests of the student. In student-groups, I try to awaken the same joy that I have when playing with other musicians. For me, this is what music is all about. There are two student concerts every year, where the students can show their family and friends what they have learned.
I teach the following instruments and subjects:
drums
piano
guitar
These three instruments can also be played in a band. The bands are normally made up of one guitar, one drum and one piano student; I always play the bass. We select songs, practice them every week, and by the end of the year, we record them to CD.
Besides that, I am also teaching
vibraphone
percussion
music-theory
Of course you could also take lessons in more than one of these instruments and subjects. Please feel free to also contact me if you want to take lessons with an instrument or subject that I don’t teach. I will ask my colleagues and see what I can do for you!
